My piece for this weeks CHoW on conceptart.org. Lolth, a demon queen of spiders from the sixty-sixth layer of the Abyss, known as the Demonweb.

I've seen pictures of this character by different artists. Is this from a book or something?

There are many, many books that are set in the Dungeons and Dragons world that use this character. One of the most popular series is by R.A. Salvatore with the drow Drizzt (look up Forgotten Realms) -- Lolth is supposed to be the goddess that the drow worship.

I've actually only played it once, because I don't really like playing RPGs all that much, but my brother got me into the Forgotten Realms books and I like those.

First i think a spider body with a womans torso is nothing new in the fantasyworld and seen pretty often. But this particular character is from Dungeons and Dragons as far as i know. I didnt know this too when i read the brief and started the challenge
